I Arrived in Anchorage just a few short months before the 1964 Earthquake. My Family arrived just in time for my mother to open her first Pharmacy and my father started the first remolding of our home in Turnagain by the Sea…later called Turnagain in the Sea, that was a short project, the earthquake finished it for him, and we moved into our home in Bootleggers Cove, I still call it home. Dad was Superintendent of Construction for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for the state. And chief of construction of the family home, yes, I grew up in a construction site. Our family has always been involved in many organizations that seemed to entertain on a very large scale, cocktail parties for 400 was common and sit down dinners for 95 also common. I started working at the pharmacies long before child labor laws, also was very talented as a cook so worked side by side chefs working parties at the house and by my mother at the pharmacy. By the time is was 15 I was banquet chef at the Sheraton, when I was old enough I attended the Culinary Institute of America (just the second class to allow women) and then became the first woman to serve as National Sergeant at Arms for the American Culinary Federation. In that position I was head of the ethics committee and through my culinary years I earned 8 ACF Presidential Medallions.
In 1995 my Mother retired and I left pharmacology and
I got a Real Estate License in 1995 and sold mainly new construction.
I have a passion for skin care and have developed several product lines sold through Dermatologist offices and Skin Spas. I love the fact that REBA allows me the time for my other adventures as well as the opportunity to keep my license active.
